Hill Stations in India

India is guarded on the North and North-East by the mighty Himalayan range. This comprises of states like Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Uttaranchal, West Bengal, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. There are other hills stations at other parts of the country as well, but the natural beauty of Himalayas is so mesmerizing that people keep on coming back to explore more.

It’s a far cry from the noisy, dusty, concrete jungles of the big cities. These places are just perfect for a laid back holiday up in the mountain with lush greenery, picturesque locales and snow-capped peaks around.

The hill stations are also very popular amongst adventure junkies, coming from various parts of India as well as abroad. There are a number of options ranging from trekking, mountaineering, rock climbing, skiing, kayaking, mountain biking and paragliding, offered by tourism boards of these states at comparatively low cost. This resulted in making these places haven for nature freaks, poets, photographers, tent dwellers and also families. Some of these places have added spiritual attractions for pilgrims as well.
